End of summer

It has been a while since I last updated! We have had a very busy last few weeks. However, not a very exciting busy few weeks. We just enjoyed the end of the summer until Josh had surgery on his poor little pinky toes, then we pretty much have been hanging out at home during his recovery. Before his operation, Pow treated us to a day at the Hancock County Fair and we had a blast. Other than that, the kids have been enjoying the warm weather and playing outside on the swing set. Now, school has started for Josh and football season is in full swing. Soccer games start this weekend and it's Harper's first year to play. Zeke and Harper will have games at the same time on some weekends, so we will be very busy trying to run around and see both of their games. Zeke doesn't start his Pre-K class until after Labor Day. So, we are just hanging in there and loving these last few weeks of warm weather! Here are some pics of the kiddos at the fair and playing in the yard.

Table Rock Lake 2009

After a very busy week I am finally getting around to writing about our awesome trip to Table Rock Lake in Missouri. My mom's cousin (aka Aunt Judy) welcomed us into her beautiful home for the week. I'm not sure if she knew what she was getting herself into! After a 10 hour car ride, the kids were all rested up for some fun in the sun!

The temperature was in the mid to upper 90s all week, so we spent most of our time on the boat or just floating off of the swim dock at Judy's house. Our kids were little water bugs and never wanted to get out of the water.

On Tuesday we spent the day at the beach and took the kids to visit the fish hatchery. Zeke, Harper and Carter enjoyed the nature center and got to feed lots of fish.

On Wednesday we had a girl's day out and visited the butterfly garden, had a blast at the Hard Luck Diner for lunch and did some shopping. We were so lucky to have Judy's granddaughter, Jenna, with us the whole week. She and Rylee had so much fun together.

The rest of the week we spent just skiing, tubing and relaxing in the water.

It is our tradition to get dressed and make ourselves look presentable for a family picture at the end of the vacation week. Although some people weren't too happy about it, we managed to get a few good shots.

Jump, Jump, Jump

We have been so busy these past few weekends! After spending all day Saturday at graduation open houses, we finally got to relax with some friends and just let the kids run and play. Zeke and Harper bounced out all of there energy with their friends Luke and Makayla after a very long day. I am always a nervous wreck when they jump on the trampoline, but they were having so much fun. The smiles on their faces say it all!

Preschool Promotion

Last night was Zeke's promotion from the 3-4s class to the Pre-K class. His class sang two songs and Zeke was the biggest ham! He had the biggest smile on his face and just loved being on stage. His teacher, Ms. Robyn read a really nice poem then the kids got their certificates. Zeke will really miss Ms. Robyn, but he is super excited to be in Ms. TT's class next year.

Race Weekend

Happy Birthday Carter!

What a busy weekend we had! We headed to Speedway around 4:30 on Friday and met up with all our friends and fam who had been at carb day all day. On Saturday the kids all had a blast at Carter's 3rd birthday party. Then we headed to Georgetown Rd. for some kid-friendly shopping. Ashley and I spent most of the evening cooking and getting everything ready for the post-race cookout. We hung out at home with the kids while the rest of the gang went for the Georgetown Rd. walk.

On Sunday, we got up and enjoyed Uncle Dale's famous sausage gravy and biscuits then headed to the track. The kids were AWESOME! Harper slept through half of the race, but the boys loved every minute of it. Last year, Zeke cried through the whole race because it was so loud, but this year he hardly wore the ear plugs at all!

Super busy weekend

We had a really fun, extremely super busy few days this weekend! On Friday night, we went to see the G-CHS production of Beauty and The Beast - it was AWESOME! Even though it was 3 hours long, Zeke and Harper sat the whole time and listened and asked a bazillion questions. It was so fun to see their eyes light up during the show. They really enjoyed it. During the intermission, some of the girls in the show were so excited to let Harper have her picture taken with them. Harper was equally as excited.

After the show, the kids wanted to have their picture taken with the prince/beast (who is one of Josh's football players). We were a bit disappointed that he didn't put his Beast costume back on because it was awesome. They rented their costumes from Disney and they were the same ones that were used in the Broadway production.

On Saturday, Zeke had a baseball game at 11:30. He got a really good hit but was tagged out on his way to third base. Then he made a really good play when he was the third baseman. He has improved so much in just the few weeks that he has been playing and we are so proud of him. At 2:00, Harper and I went to a baby shower and she was just the best girl! I love to show her off and she had a blast playing all of the shower games and eating snacks and cupcakes!
After the shower we headed to Lafayette for Great Grandpa Frenchie's 81st birthday. All of the kids (and Uncle Gabe) had fun playing kickball in the backyard and just enjoyed being outside.

Mother's day was just as busy! Gabe cooked the most awesome French Toast for all of us on Sunday morning and we just hung out and played for most of the morning. We left Lafayette and headed back to Indy to have Mother's Day lunch with Memere and Meemaw. The kids had fun playing with more cousins and didn't want to go home. We finished our day off by having pizza with friends and relaxing!

Today, Zeke's preschool had their annual day at Riley park. Zeke's class had their spring pictures taken and the kids played for hours. We packed a picnic and ate lunch there. It was so much fun and the kids really enjoyed getting out of the house! We came home and all took turns watering the flowers and now we can finally relax!
